Moyes Rubbishes RvP Claims
Manchester United manager David Moyes has rubbished reports suggesting Robin van Persie is still facing up to six weeks on the sidelines.
The Dutch striker has missed the Red Devils' last nine outings as he continues to struggle with a thigh strain, and recent claims suggested last season's Golden Boot winner could now only return at the end of February.
Moyes, though, insists there is no truth in the reports, saying: "I don't know where that has come from. That would be wrong information as far as I am concerned."
United have felt the forward's absence in a big way this term, with Saturday's 2-0 win over Swansea still leaving the defending Premier League champions nine points off the pace at the top of the standings, although the gap could increase to 11, with the leaders at the start of the weekend, Arsenal, still to play on Monday evening.
