CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Accuses Pastor Enoch Adeboye Of Abetting Corruption

The battle line is now drawn between the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, and the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, with the CBN top shot accusing the revered man of God of aiding and abetting corruption by shielding the former CEO of Intercontinental Bank PLC, Erasmus Akingbola, a member of Adeboye’s church, who has been indicted for various financial fraud while he held sway at the bank before it was liquidated.
Sanusi said that Adeboye has been the one making the prosecution of Akingbola, who allegedly stole over N200 billion from the commercial bank by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, impossible.
The CBN front man claimed that Pastor Adeboye’s involvement in the deal and his intervention in getting the judge who was handling the case, Justice Habeeb Abiru, promoted to the Court of Appeals has truncated the case as that enabled Akingbola escape to the UK as soon as the EFCC indicated their desire to try him.
He was later forced to return to Nigeria, but his prosecution soon fizzled out, due to Adeboye’s interference, according to Sanusi.
