Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi says his objective at next year’s World Cup would be to better the nation’s record in the competition which is the round of 16.
Nigeria’s best performance at the tournament has been round of16 finishes in the USA (1994) and France (1998) but have failed to go past the group stage in Korea-Japan(2002) and South Africa(2010).
“I am looking out to get a very good squad for the World Cup and go beyond Nigeria’s record in the previous World Cups,” Keshi told Brila FM on Monday.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group F alongside Argentina, Bosnia Herzegovina and Iran.
Keshi has voiced his intention of holding a pre-world cup camp in the USA though the NFF is yet to give its final word.
